Museu Judaico de São Paulo/São Paulo Jewish Museum
The São Paulo Jewish Museum commissioned me to design a folder that would introduce the new museum, currently under construction, to possible donors. Their mission was to be open and inviting to the community of São Paulo. Because the museum had an identity that was under review, I proposed a fresh, contemporary look, using the beautiful geometry of the Star of David to play with the idea of openness. The outcome is modern and compelling: the numerous ways in which a closed hexagon unfolds into a star, results in dynamic, abstract and unique shapes that work as stand alone icons and could be developed into an identity system. The shapes, or each unfolding, could also be used as a numeric system. In fact, it functions that way in the folder as chapter numbers.
